Surgery

Our doctors are not only skilled veterinarians who diagnose and cure your pet’s health issues, they are also skilled surgeons capable of performing both large and small animal surgeries. Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic offers the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. We perform minor and major surgery procedures such as, but not limited to, foreign object removal, exploratory surgery, spay/neuter/castration, cesarean section, tumor removal, laceration and small wound repair, and more.
Our doctors will perform an initial examination of your pet to determine if surgery is required. Typically blood work, a physical exam, and possibly an x-ray is used to diagnose and identify the potential issue that needs treatment. Once a course of action has been decided upon between you and the doctor, surgery will be scheduled as soon as possible. Prior to surgery, all patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored for your pet.
Our surgical services and facilities include: three experienced doctors capable of large and small animal surgery; fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care.
Following surgery, our team will instruct you on how to care for your pet at home and we will also make regular check-ups to see how your animal companion is faring. We are just a phone call away should you have any concerns post surgery.
Southwest Louisiana Veterinary Clinic provides surgical care to large and small animals in Sulphur, DeQuincy, the Lake Charles area, and beyond.
